Welcome to PIRA’s Service Demonstration Page

...offering convenient insight into how PIRA’s innovative online services can save you time and provide unmatched commercial value

Many of PIRA's services are now "portal"-based or feature audio-visual deliverables. Using PIRA Online, clients can access these custom-designed interfaces where they can easily navigate among reports and data on a specific topic, as well as execute (and save) complex data queries or view slideshow presentations with accompanying audio. To see a demonstration of how these services work and how to best capitalize on their features, please click on the links below to launch a specific demonstration in Windows Media Video (.WMV) file format.

LNG Portal Demonstration
PIRA’s Global LNG Service provides a comprehensive analysis of global LNG supply, demand, prices, spot trade, netbacks, and arbitrage, as well as a wide-ranging database, weekly scorecard, monthly outlook, and special features on the longer-term global LNG market.

Oil Trade Flow Portal
PIRA’s Oil Trade Flow Portal provides detailed, interactive balances and trade flows for crude and major refined products, both short-term and long-term. Accessible through PIRA Online, the portal provides user-defined data tables, broken out into 13 distinct regions, on refinery product production/yields, crude production/runs, product demand, net inter-regional trade flows, and inventory changes.

Oil Product Trading Analyzer (OPTA)
OPTA is an online research tool for products traders that provides the latest detailed market analysis, light product balances, and prices for petroleum products in the U.S. and Europe. It features current and historical data for production, stocks, demand, exports, and imports, along with PIRA’s latest assessments of refinery margins and turnarounds. OPTA provides access to current contract prices for futures, cracks, and spreads; moving-average analysis; Commitment of Traders statistics; and even a first-of-its kind worldwide arbitrage model.

Planning for Tomorrow: PIRA’s Five-Year Outlook for Crude Oil and Refined Products Markets
This recently released multi-client study brings together PIRA’s global energy analysis, models, and forecasting intelligence to provide a comprehensive, internally consistent outlook for oil industry planning and market research. It covers in great detail conventional liquids, the rapidly growing volume of alternative fuels, and refined-product markets, in addition to placing oil demand and supply in the context of all other fuels and the specific characteristics of each end-use — both from a global perspective as well as by key regions and countries. This demo is an excerpt from a WebEx workshop that explains the study’s key assumptions, analysis and conclusions.

World Refinery Database
The World Refinery Database provides a comprehensive breakdown of capacity and process-unit configuration for nearly every refinery in the world. It has been recently enhanced to also give users the option to see by-refinery crude runs (broken out into major crude grade categories) as well as historic refinery outage data The Database also provides historical tracking of refinery ownership over time; regional product quality specifications affecting local refinery production requirements; timely refinery capacity-related reports affecting short- and long-term oil supply/demand; as well as key regional refining margins. The Database is routinely updated to reflect the latest details on planned refinery configuration changes, capacity expansions, and crude slates.

Freight Market Outlook
FMO features a monthly report that translates the key assumptions and flows in PIRA’s World Oil Market Forecast into an up-to-date oil transportation balance and freight rate outlook, allowing readers to anticipate changes in the availability and cost of tonnage for different vessel size classes and trades. Its accompanying portal provides easy-access historic and forecast data, analytical tools and other interactive features.

Greenhouse Gas Emissions Service
The Greenhouse Gas Emissions Service combines PIRA’s experience and understanding of the underlying greenhouse gas emissions fundamentals (involving fuel choices, technology developments and economic growth) with an assessment of the existing and prospective policy-making drivers of global emissions markets. The portal provides data, forecasts and timely insights into existing markets (primarily the European ETS) as well as offset markets being developed in response to Kyoto and other domestic/regional initiatives around the globe (U.S., Canada, Japan, etc).

Global Biofuels Service
The Global Biofuels Service portal provides analysis of the commercial aspects of the global market by monitoring mandates, incentives, demand, supply, capacity, prices, raw materials and market structure in countries with bioethanol and biodiesel programs. The service focuses on the key areas of the U.S., Brazil and Europe and includes an analysis of other markets as well. Emphasis is placed on reviewing historical U.S. biofuels prices and manufacturing economics and projecting future prices using PIRA’s crude oil and refined products forecasts.
